FRIDAY JULY 20th
This evening will be fairly relaxed and chill, if you are driving in from the City on Friday afternoon, do not worry about being right on the beach at 6PM. Casual BBQ will be served as the evening progresses, there will be a bonfire on the beach and some musical instruments if you feel like jamming! There will be some alcohol available, but if you plan on REALLY getting your party on, please BYOB for the Friday - we'll take care of you on Saturday!
The BBQ/Bonfire will be happening at the FAR END of Willow Lane, not where you will see the big white tent - that is for Saturday night!
PARKING: Please DO NOT DRIVE down Willow Lane as this is a private drive and cannot handle mass traffic. You may find parking in the area, on Commercial Drive and environs, or near the Memorial Church. You will then have to walk down Willow Lane and the Hagey Cottage is at the very end! Follow the balloons!
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND bringing your own flashlights, headlamps, etc. for later on in the evening when you are walking back to your vehicle.
We will be clearing the beach around 10:30 PM out of respect for our neighbours on this evening. If anyone wants to continue the festivities, we will probably move to the Erie Beach Hotel in Port Dover or another Dover hangout, The Brig.
Also, please remember that Port Ryerse is a good 5 minute drive down the highway from Port Dover, if that is where you will be staying. Please drink responsibly, car pool with friends, or make use of the local Taxi Service, Norfolk Taxi @ 1-519-428-3131.
A cab ride from Port Dover to Port Ryerse one-way will cost you around $20.
SATURDAY JULY 21st
Ceremony to start @ 3 PM at the Port Ryerse Memorial Church.
The Church may be under construction on the weekend of July 21st, so chances are we will be having the ceremony out on the lawn, in the shade.
PARKING IS ON YOUR OWN in the environs of the church, on King Street, Commercial Drive, et. al. You will then want to leave your vehicle where it is and walk down to the beach for the Reception. We will have marked the way with balloons and hopefully some lights to show you the way back to your cars!
The Reception will begin shortly after the Ceremony is over, with the main course to be served shortly after 6PM.
After dinner, we will be having a variety show of sorts, kareoke will be available, speeches and performances, etc. If you have something that you would like included in the program, please register with our Em Cee, MICHAEL MURRAY, earlier in the weekend or via e-mail.
If you have a specific KAREOKE song that you would like to sing, or any other music by request, please e-mail our lovely host Wil McLean at wilmclean [at] gmail [dot] com to ensure that we have your song on our big day!
Again, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND bringing your own flashlights, headlamps, etc. for later on in the evening when you are walking back to your vehicle.
SUNDAY JULY 22nd
Brunch will be served after noon on the same part of the beach where we set up on Saturday night. Bring your swimsuits, beach wear, towels, sunscreen, hats, etc! We will have some flip flops available for those of you who might forget ;-)
We look forward to hanging out with you all and thank you so much for making the time to come and share our special day with us!
